Scanned over 1000 pictures from recent pictures to 60 year old black and white and very very pleased with the quality. Unit is fast, two seconds a picture and not one picture jammed.
This scanner is FAST. The colors are nearly spot on, with true gray grays. Depth of field is great. Scanner is about half the weight of similar scanners. Only had it a few days, but have not found any troubles with it yet.
I have scanned well over a thousand photos and it works perfectly. It straightens the ones I fed in a bit crooked, it is fast and produces a very good picture. This model is a great tool for cleaning out those shoeboxes of photos. I like the auto feed method too.
Thrilled so far with this affordable large-format scanner. I paint watercolor designs (mostly botanical and with detailed shading and colors) as well as illustrate with markers in black/white as well as colored markers (like Copic for manga and other types of illustrations). I needed to find a scanner large enough to scan my 12″x12″ paintings and illustrations. I decided I had to give this scanner a try because it is the only one I can possibly afford.
The scans I’m getting from the Plustek Opticfilm 120 are sharper, and the SilverFast Ai Studio 8 driver is working very well. The film holders are nicely made, easy to load, and seem to keep the film nice and flat, and scan speed is much faster.
The initial results with this scanner, testing a wide range of images in a variety of materials, some images as old as 45 years, indicate that it is a superlative instrument. It’s a pleasure to use and produces results better than any in my experience in my own studio.
This was a great buy, it’s sorted many photos from the 80’s and 90’s for myself, my father in law and Grandmother. It genuinely scans a photo every 2 seconds and shoots them out into a folder on your PC or laptop. Colours are accurate, deep and rich.
This product is easy to set up and easy to use. I think that for most folks that simply want to scan older photos, this is ideal, and the tools to enhance the photos are fine, for me the quality is more than adequate. It really does only take 2 seconds per photo to scan. Would thoroughly recommend this as a product.
