Very impressed with the speed and quality of the scans. Old black & white photos show excellent detail, and colour prints are reproduced perfectly compared to what our old scanner could manage.
I unboxed the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i and had the basic software installed in 5 minutes. Ten minutes of reading and playing around with settings and I was away scanning old 35 mm slides and negatives with excellent resolution. The colour reproduction is excellent. Build quality is robust and sleek.
This scanner can out resolve any known film and has greater dynamic range, so everything on the film is going to be captured. The advantage of oversampling like this is that any slight quality loss due to colour correction, cropping or rotating will be invisible. Images can be downsized after processing.
So pleased that I bought this machine. I have a lot of photos that need scanning so that I can put them away but still have them available alongside all my digital photos. One Sunday morning I managed to scan 3,000 + of them. This was on the lowest resolution of 300 and the result was more than acceptable.
Having reviewed the options I settled on the Plustek ePhoto Z300 and I am pleased that I did. Setup was easy. I have a flatbed scanner but chose this for speed and ease of use for scanning many photos and it is a good choice. I have also scanned documents with it. They are also quick and with good results.
Awesome scanner. Quick scanning and easy to install. Scanner has 9 default scan files (for the button), so you just need to press a button. If someone asks me to recommend scanner, I will recommend this one.
I’m a lawyer and I send my paralegal to scan discovery documents at the opposing attorney’s office. Saves me tons of paper storage space, toner, folders, and paper. Small and compact, it fits in a typical backpack/rolling file box.
